RollDock BV of Holland operate the Rolldock Sun and will take delivery later in 2010 of the Rolldock Sea. Having a combination of 3 loading and discharging modes they can be adapted to a variety of situations and circumstances:
‘Lift-on lift-off’, with 2 heavy lift cranes capable of working in tandem up to 700 metric tons;
‘Float-in float-out’ up to 7,000 metric tons subject to draft as the vessels are semi-submersible;
‘Roll-on roll-off’ up to 4,000 metric tons dependent on configuration, due to the special feature of the stern ramp and the cargo deck which can be set to various levels facilitating variations in quay height. In view of the fact the vessels can sail with open hatch the height of the cargo transported allows for very tall modules.
